We will be running an extra practice class for Grade 7 exam students 8:15-9:15pm on Tuesday 19th May 2026 at Hallhill. Those that are currently in Grade 8 during this time will just go through to the other hall to take part in this extra practice.

Our Competition Team is for dedicated and motivated dancers who are ready to take their training to the next level. This programme is designed for students who show strong commitment and a passion for performance. As part of the team, dancers represent DSD at competitions and events while developing advanced technique, performance quality, confidence, and teamwork.

Please note that auditioning does not guarantee a place.
Dancers will be assessed on technique, performance quality, musicality, strength, flexibility, control, attitude, focus, and commitment. We encourage dancers to audition for multiple styles to allow the best possible placement.
From Summer 2026, dancers will be placed into style-specific teams:
The number of teams will depend on audition numbers and overall standard within each age group.
To support safe training and progression, the following class requirements apply:

Lyrical/Contemporary
Competition Team dancers are expected to attend all required classes and rehearsals, maintain excellent attendance and punctuality, and demonstrate a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Dancers should take corrections on board, show consistent improvement, and support their teammates. If a dancer misses more than two classes per term without a valid reason, they may be asked to leave the team.
This is our final week of classes before we break for the summer holidays.
Please note there will be no classes on Friday 26th or Saturday 27th due to a wedding at Hallhill. Students who usually attend on these days have not been charged.
During our final week, we’ll be running a fun week, where classes are merged and students are welcome to attend as many sessions as they like. This is a great opportunity to try out new classes, especially if they are considering starting something different after the summer.
Students are welcome to attend classes for their current age group, as well as the age group they will move into after summer if they are between age brackets.
On Thursday (our final day of classes), we’ll be celebrating with an end-of-term dance party for Nursery-P7 and S1+, a fun way to finish the term together!

We are so excited to announce that our Nursery–P6 Summer Dance Camp will take place from Monday 20th – Friday 24th July 2026 at Hallhill Sports Centre.
Classes will include Acro, Ballet, Lyrical/Contemporary, Commercial, and Jazz.

Ready to level up? This high-energy week is packed with technique, choreography, and performance training, perfect for dedicated dancers who want to push themselves and grow. The summer school runs Monday to Friday, 9:00am–3:00pm.
