Our Tap classes follow the ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing) syllabus, a globally recognised and structured training programme focusing on rhythm, musicality, and performance.
The ISTD Tap syllabus blends traditional tap technique with modern American styles, creating a dynamic and engaging approach to learning. It offers a clear progression from beginner to advanced levels, with opportunities to take both graded and class examinations.

The ISTD Tap syllabus offers a progressive pathway:
Pre-Primary & Primary (Age 5+)
Introduction to basic steps, rhythm, and coordination in a fun and engaging way
Grades 1–3
Development of core technique, timing, and simple step patterns
Grades 4–5
More complex rhythms, faster footwork, and improved control
Grades 6–Intermediate
Advanced steps, stamina, intricate rhythms, and performance quality
Advanced Levels (Advanced 1 & 2)
High-level technical work, speed, precision, and performance skills
Students may be entered for ISTD Tap exams or class examinations, depending on their level and confidence.

At our school, we only enter students for vocational ISTD Tap examinations from Intermediate level and above.
