Dunbar School of Dance (DSD) is a well-established and welcoming dance school in East Lothian, offering high-quality training for children aged 2 to 18. Whether your child dances for fun or dreams of a professional career, DSD provides a supportive and inspiring environment where every dancer can thrive.
Our Classes
We offer a wide variety of dance styles for all ages and abilities, including:

Classes are designed to build confidence, develop strong technical foundations, and foster a lifelong love of dance. Students can attend weekly classes for fun or train intensively across multiple disciplines if they aspire to a professional path.
At DSD, we pride ourselves on nurturing every dancer. Our friendly and inclusive environment ensures that each child feels valued, supported, and inspired. For those with professional ambitions, we offer a clear progression route, and we are proud that several of our former pupils have gone on to study at leading vocational colleges, including Bird College of Dance and Musical Theatre in London.
In July 2022, Meryl Stewart took over Dunbar School of Dance, and since then the school has grown rapidly, welcoming more students and expanding its range of classes. DSD continues to provide a nurturing, encouraging environment where children can build confidence, develop their skills, and discover a love for dance that will last a lifetime.
